Field verdictBuy it if you are off-grid for days and the projector solves a real problem. If you only want the battery, the projector is mass you will carry for nothing.
What the projector is for
A 150-lumen DLP projector at 480p is not a home cinema, and Ulefone's marketing comparison to IMAX should be read as marketing. It is, however, a useful site tool: projecting a drawing onto a wall for a team briefing, showing a plan in a tent or a vehicle, or presenting where there is no screen. Autofocus, automatic keystone correction of up to ±40° and a design that projects with the phone lying flat remove most of the setup friction.
Two consequences are easy to miss. The projector needs active cooling, so the phone carries two small fans — moving parts in a rugged device, which Ulefone says are covered by the same ratings. And at 150 lumens, the image needs a dim room. In daylight on a building site it will be faint.
Battery, weight and travel
25,500 mAh is the largest battery Ulefone fits to a phone, and Ulefone quotes up to ten days of use. The 66 W charger is quick for the capacity, and 10 W reverse charging makes the phone a power bank for a second device.
The cost is mass: 825 g and nearly 33 mm thick, per third-party listings. That is three to four times a conventional phone. It belongs in a bag or a MOLLE holster (sold separately), not a pocket.
Ulefone states the battery is approved for air travel. Airline rules work on watt-hours, not milliamp-hours: most carriers allow devices up to 100 Wh in the cabin without approval. Check the Wh figure printed on the device label against your airline's policy before you fly.
The Armor 34 family
Ulefone lists four phones under the Armor 34 name. The Armor 34+ keeps the 25,500 mAh battery, the 6.95-inch display and the 1,100-lumen light, drops the projector and fits a louder 118 dB speaker. If the projector is not the point, the 34+ is the more sensible endurance phone. The Armor 34 and Armor 34 Pro are the earlier versions; check the product page for which features each keeps before buying on price.
Reported weaknesses
Drawn from published reviews and aggregated owner reports across the Armor range, not from testing this unit.
- Weight is a daily costOwners of the 20,000 mAh-plus models consistently describe the weight as the thing they underestimated. Handle one before you commit.
- Camera outputLow-light and close-focus results draw persistent criticism across the Armor line, regardless of megapixel count.
- Call and microphone clarityA recurring Ulefone complaint. Test it inside the return window.
- Update paceNo published security-patch commitment. Not a fit for deployments that require one.
Alternatives
- Armor 34+ — same battery and light without the projector, with a 118 dB speaker.
- Armor 24 Pro — 22,000 mAh at 647 g on a 4G Helio G200. Much lighter, much slower, no projector.
- Armor 29 Pro Thermal — 21,200 mAh with a 640×512 thermal sensor instead of a projector.
